Recently due to my line of work , locations I have to be and personal reasons, I have not been able to blog as often as I would want and my web development activities have been at a virtual standstill for the past few months. I thought these quotes were worth the blogging though when i read and heard them.

Religion ends and philosophy begins, just as alchemy ends and chemistry begins and astrology ends, and astronomy begins.

Creationists defeated in Kansas school vote on science teaching
School authorities in the American heartland state of Kansas have delivered a rebuff to subscribers to the notion of intelligent design by voting to banish language challenging evolution from new science guidelines.
In a 6-4 vote on Tuesday night, the Kansas state board of education deleted language from teaching guidelines that challenged the validity of evolutionary theory, and approved new phrasing in line with mainstream science.
It was seen as a victory for a coalition of moderate Republicans and Democrats, science educators and parents who had fought for two years...

There once was this minimalistic, free file hosting service called "boomspeed" that had the potential of become the Google of quick and simple file hosting services.
Due to their popularity and greed, Boomspeed started a paid premium service that gave users 250MB of web space and premium support. They kept their free service for the existing members so they wouldn't lose their audience.
I signed up the free service some 4 or 5 years ago and liked the fact that you could access your files using FTP and the web interface we quite user friendly.
At one point or another...Boomspeed turned greedier than...

Muslims Celebrate Ritual Child Abuse with Animal Torture

Eid ul-Adha is celebrated by practicing Muslims as a commemoration of a "Prophet" called Ibrahim (Abraham) who was allegedly willing to ritually sacrifice his son Ismael for the voice of a man he heard in his head whom he called "God".
The story goes that Abraham's all-knowing God demanded the head of his son as a sacrifice to find out if he really believed in him. This had a number of reasons. One being that his god was a real attention whore with insecurities about his ego. Another was that his god was a homicidal psychopath.

If you ever feel like designing your own fully functional Flash XML reading embedded MP3 player for your website, blog or because you're waiting on the bus and have nothing better to do at the time, my good friend Dino has just the right thing for you. The tutorial uses the very object oriented ActionScript 2 as its weapon of choice and has screenshots to help you along the way.
Enjoy.

Graham Gates:
This guy told me I was hot I felt sick
oh man I just want to rap
TCorp:
"Open Mike" night at the gay bar didn't go as expected?

Lawyer: U.S. student hit by stun gun thought officer was racial profiling
LOS ANGELES: A video of a UCLA officer using a Taser on a student was uploaded to YouTube yesterday. This is the third videotape of a Los Angeles police incident that involves “excessive force” to surface in the past week.
Technology is watching and spreading the news. With video cameras being built into cell phones and still cameras, a new surge in citizen journalism continues to gain momentum. Once a novelty feature, cell phone video is quickly becoming a valuable tool for capturing political inequities. This week,...
